I’m an independent artist and composer, which is a fancy way of saying I spend a lot of my time trying to translate the feelings in my chest into sounds you can hear. This space, NVL Music, is where those translations live. It’s a bit of a work-in-progress, much like I am, but it’s built on a foundation of honesty, imagination, and a philosophy I call Prima Voca.

What is Prima Voca? (The “First Voice”)
When I’m creating, I try to find my way back to what I call the “first voice.”
In a world that is constantly telling us how we should sound, what’s trending on social media, or what the “algorithm” wants, the first voice is the one that exists before all that noise. It’s the intuitive, gut-level spark that happens before comparison or doubt creeps in. It’s the voice that feels true, even if it doesn’t fit neatly into a genre box.
For me, Prima Voca is my compass. It’s what leads me to create music that ranges from immersive, storm-like cinematic pieces to quiet, reflective tracks. Whether I’m using traditional instruments or experimenting with modern tools, the goal is always the same: to stay sincere. I believe that when we create from that first-voice place, we create music that has the potential for longevity and real meaning, rather than just chasing a temporary trend.
The Voice as Our Storyteller
You’ll notice in my work that the human voice is often at the center. I don’t just mean singing lyrics (though I do that too!); I mean using the voice as an instrument in its own right.
There is something so primal and connective about the human voice. It can convey a sense of history, a whisper of a secret, or the weight of a storm without saying a single word. In my cinematic soundscapes, I treat the voice as a storyteller that bridges the gap between the listener and the music. It’s about creating an atmosphere where you don’t just hear the sound, you feel the presence of another human being standing there with you.
Exploring the Catalog: Storms, Hope, and Friendship
My music tends to move in cohesive arcs. I like to think of my releases not as individual “products,” but as chapters in a larger story. Here are a few pieces that might help you get to know my sound:
- “Rain Deluge”: This piece is very much a “gathering storm.” It’s immersive and intense, reflecting those moments in life when everything feels heavy and overwhelming. You can read more about the inspiration behind it in the official press release.
- “Dunkman (I Can Feel It)”: On the other side of the spectrum, “Dunkman” is high-energy and full of movement. It’s about that feeling of capability and momentum. It’s one of those tracks where the lyrics and the rhythm work together to lift you up.
- “A Toast to My Friends”: This is a more reflective, playful track. It’s a tribute to the people who walk through the storms with us. It’s grounded in that “down-to-earth” sincerity that I strive for in everything I do.
Sincerity Over Trends
I’ll be honest with you, I’m not very good at being “cool” or following the latest industry blueprints. My head is often in the clouds, dreaming up sounds that might not make sense on a top-40 radio station. And I’ve realized that’s okay.
I prioritize heart over technical perfection. If a track has a raw edge but feels honest, I’ll keep it that way. I want to build a body of work that listeners can return to years from now and still find something of substance. Whether I’m sharing a work-in-progress snippet or a polished final release, I’m committed to being transparent about the process. It’s a vulnerable thing to share the “unfiltered” versions of ourselves, but I think that’s where the real connection happens.
Current Projects
I am usually working on many different parts of many projects at once, and this is part of the upcoming release schedule.
My next release, ‘All of Your Dreams,’ is a song about guardianship over cynicism. It is a deeply protective piece told from the perspective of someone who has lived long enough to understand the dangers of the world but still refuses to surrender hope. The song holds two truths at once: that the world can be difficult, and that the next generation deserves wonder anyway.
Rather than giving in to bitterness, the narrator chooses to place a protective mantle around those they love. Because of that, the song feels less like a traditional parent-child piece and more like a universal blessing passed from one generation to another.
A Personal Note: Tension and Hope
If I had to sum up my music in a single phrase, it would be “holding tension and hope at the same time.”
Life is rarely just one thing. It’s messy, beautiful, scary, and hopeful all at once. I want my music to reflect that complexity. It’s okay to feel like you’re enduring a storm, as long as you know there’s a quiet space to land afterward. My music is for the people who crave that depth, the ones who aren’t afraid to look at the shadows but are always looking for the light.
Stay as long as you like. There’s always room for one more at the table.
